Walking with God – A Miracle

If you have read the Bible much or been around church some, you probably have had the feeling from time to time that living this Christian life is very difficult if not impossible. Looking at Jesus with his fantastic personality and character and then trying to live like that can be very discouraging and defeating at times.

Maybe that is why for many of us, we often slip into what I call the maintenance mode. You know, attend church services regularly, put some money in the offering when you remember, and attend a Sunday School class or small group. But in the midst of all that, we sense a disconnect with God and rarely if ever experience His presence and work in our lives. Nothing really changes much, including ourselves.

In this sermon series I want us to learn from an amazing experience the disciples had with Jesus (Matthew 14:22-33). I want us to be encouraged to take some spiritual risk, to seek miracles from God and to move out of our maintenance mode of faith to a fresh and new living faith. I am going to challenge you to test God, to believe in God and to refuse to live a mediocre faith.

This year, 2009, is the year for each of us to pursue our walk with God in new and fresh ways or levels of intensity. Wherever you are at right now in your journey with God, my prayer is that you will take it to the next level.

Peter walked on water – I hope you do too in 2009.

A Five-Step Process
  • There Is a Call
  • There Is Fear
  • There Is Reassurance
  • There Is a Decision
  • There Is a Change in the Life
