- Repentance requires seeing Who Jesus really is. 2:36; 3:14; 3:15
- Repentance requires being convicted of how terrible your sins are in God’s sight. Matthew 15:18-19; Matthew 5:48; Isaiah 64:6
- To receive God’s forgiveness, you must believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. Mark 1:14-15; Acts 20:21
- Believing faith is surrendered faith.
- Saving faith changes the heart. 2 Corinthians 5:17
- Saving faith imparts the Holy Spirit. v. 38
- Saving faith desires to do good works. Ephesians 2:8-10
- Saving faith is committed to obeying Christ’s commands. 1 John 2:3
- Saving faith is motivated to please the Lord. Ephesians 5:8
- Baptism is a declaration of believing faith in Jesus Christ. Matt. 28:19-20
- Water Baptism is not required for salvation! Acts 3:19; Acts 10:43; Acts 16:31
- Water Baptism follows after believing faith that has resulted in salvation. Acts 8:35-38; Acts 10:43-47; Acts 16:30-34
- Believing faith and baptism are an individual matter. vs. 38
- Repentance and believing faith are a work of God v. 39
- We are dead in our transgressions and sin Ephesians 2:1-3
- We are unable to submit to God. Romans 8:7
- We cannot understand the things of God by ourselves. 1 Corinthians 2:14
- Satan blinds us to the gospel. 2 Corinthians 4:4
- Repentance and saving faith are not our works; they are God’s gracious gift. Acts 11:18; Ephesians 2:8-9
