We need to pray because
- We are fighting demonic forces (v. 12). Daniel 10:12-13
- We are powerless in ourselves to defeat demonic forces. Jude 1:9; Mark 9:14-29
- Christ has all the power to defeat demonic forces. Luke 8:26-39
We pray in the Spirit by
- Praying with full access to God Hebrews 4:14-16
- Praying as led by the Holy Spirit Romans 8:26-27
- Praying counting on the Holy Spirit to intercede (v. 26)
- Praying with patient trust in God’s care Romans 8:28; 1 Peter 5:7
We become prayer warriors when we (Ephesians 6:18)
- Pray with variety – using all prayer options.
- Pray frequently – for every situation. 2 Timothy 1:3; 1 Thessalonians 5:17
- Pray with tenacity – never stop. Isaiah 62: 6-7, Luke 18:1-8
- Pray for fellow followers of Christ. 1 Samuel 12:23
- Pray for what is needed to fulfill God’s mission (v. 19-20). Acts 4:29-30; Jude 1:20
